Come along and speak to staff from the Argyll & Bute Health & Social Care Partnership regarding the interim move of mental health services from the Argyll & Bute Hospital to the Mid Argyll Community Hospital.
See the plans for the new mental health inpatient unit
All questions and concerns will be taken on board.

I am delighted to share the following dates that Clare Holohan of West Highland Herbal will be leading Herbal Walks from Kintaline Farm Benderloch
Thursday May 5th, from 3 – 5 pm
Thursday June 16th from 3 – 5 pm
Saturday July 23rd (and you will be able to have some Fibre fun before hand at the Victory Halls, Benderloch with the Woolfeis Fibre Jamboree.
This event aims to introduce the amazing variety of medicinal herbs available to us around Benderloch on the West Coast of Scotland.
Led by local experienced medical herbalist, Clare Holohan, we will see a variety of herbs and plants for culinary and medicinal use.
The walk is suitable for people of all ages.
You can identify and learn more about common wild plants, their medicinal action and current uses, historical use and folklore.
We will discuss responsible foraging, harvesting and preparation.
You will be amazed at how many useful plants can be found in a variety of habitats, we are sure to find a great selection of interesting plants to meet and get to know.
Please wear suitable footwear and dress for the weather!
The walk will begin and end at Kintaline farm.
The cost is £15 per person.

Herbs for Health and Wellness

This event aims to introduce the 5 keys to good health and offers tips and techniques for keeping yourself healthy.
We will start with a talk and discussion of these key points followed by a short foraging session (weather permitting!) You can then try your hand at making some delicious and healthy wild foraged dishes. This is a great time of year to think about spring tonics and this topic should feature highly on the list.
Lunch is pot luck so please bring something to contribute to a shared lunch.

Meet at the start of the String of Lorn footpath (the old drovers’ road) on the Loch Avich road at NM 938 153, opposite Lochavich House. Bring a packed lunch. We will follow the track to Loch na Sreinge where we will look for dragonflies and water plants including Awlwort, the underwater crucifer, which was recorded there in 1990. Lunch at the loch. Optional afternoon tea at the Wild Rowan cafe in Dalavich.
The first meeting of Oban Rowing Club will take place at 7:30pm on Wednesday 31st July at 7:30pm. Spread the word!
Scot Gov to look at improving care for chronic pain sufferers..
All local health boards to have an ” action plan” in place by the end of this year.
Lets hope that includes a genuine place for the complementary therapies which often give far more effective relief than sledge hammer, addictive drugs with nasty side effects, but are out of reach of so many through cost.
