First Argyll APPLE DAY - 15th October 2009

LORN Markets Autumn Fayre is this week and we are delighted to welcome John Hancox of the Commonwealth Orchard to North Argyll as part of his Fruitful Scotland tour this autumn.
The market is at Kintaline Farm, Benderloch - follow the signs, trading from 10 am to 3 pm

John will be bringing the Scottish Apple Collection of over 100 varieties for visitors to find out more about.
He would love you to bring him clean apples from your trees to make into juice on the day.
We need at least 300 to get it going. Contact Jill on 01631 720223 if you can contribute some, please.

A study has started on what varieties are being grown in the area, John is very keen to find out all about ANY trees you have, and will be assisted by experienced growers who can help with any tree growing problems and ideas. So, please come to the market to let John know what you are growing, and find out more about the varieties possible.

For more details please take a look at the LORN Autumn Newsletter here .
There is also a poster for the First Argyll Apple Day - please print off and pass around.
